A Subtle Afternoon

How bright these stars become
When we turn off the lights
Is the same true for love?

A lit room on a dark night
A sunrise in a cloudy sky
Subtlety has it’s virtue

Like god wispering in your ear
Through the wind and trees
Or that tingling feeling you get

When you really feel something
Connection to the eternal
Maybe just warmth from a Sun

The light through leaves
Never ceases to amaze me
Like the milky way on a beach

Like the first late fall breeze
A chill, a sentiment, a soft cheek
A morning I love you

A subtle afternoon

And all you need is you
